Here’s a New Year’s Resolution Idea: Clean Up Your Act.

Here’s a New Year’s Resolution Idea: Clean Up Your Act.

While many of us think “clean” is a four-letter word, it actually has five letters – and infinite power to change your life. Really. Hear us out.

There’s a whole slew of scientific studies and articles praising cleanliness, tidiness, and organizedness. (Yes, we made up that last word.) Don’t believe us? Articles like this and popular shows like this are all the rage. These days, cleaning is cool. Even better, cleaning is really good for you… mind, body, and soul.

So, if you’re looking for a new you for the new year, we have a fresh idea for you: Deep clean your house.

Here’s a good start:

  • Get out your trusty Shop-Vac® and get your year off to an amazing start. The All Around® series vacs work great for almost any task.

  • Pull out the kitchen appliances and suck up those dust bunnies, clumps of dog hair, and any other unidentifiable yuckiness that has lived there for months (years?).

  • Ditto with the dirt and crumbs that reside under couches, couch cushions, and beds… first remove any socks, kiddie and dog toys, and empty pizza boxes.

  • Shake out the drapes, or smack them with a towel, to dislodge dust, then suck it up.

  • Clean out the clothes dryer vent, refrigerator coils (always unplug appliances first), and fireplace (never vacuum hot embers).

  • Unclog sluggish drains with the Drain Hero Tool.

Sound hard? It’s easy with the right tools. Not only will your Shop-Vac® clean up wet or dry messes, it comes with a crevice tool, various nozzles and brushes, and an extension wand. There’s almost nothing it can’t do.

And now that your home (and soul) sparkles, add a wonderful aroma. (Aromatherapy, like cleaning, is kind of a big deal right now. Check out this article.) Whether it’s a candle or essential oils or some hot apple cider with cinnamon simmering on the stove… breathe and relax. And consider your New Year’s resolution met.
